Picture yourself in the Australian bush, miles away from the nearest city in the middle of nowhere. You are surrounded by seven hundred-foot-tall sandstone cliffs. You look up at the ancient escarpment dotted with eucalyptus and breath in the clear air of the valley. The green grass surrounding the resort invites you to explore the grounds as you hear the Wolgan River trickling past in the background. But, not before you finish your relaxing dip in your private pool. No city noise, no congestion, no concrete jungle. Utter peace and tranquillity… all from your private villa.
Sometimes, one needs to get out of the city… escape work, escape home, escape the same monotonous drive in endless traffic. But where to go and what to do? Well… the Blue Mountains’ most luxurious resort is calling!
Wolgan Valley Resort
Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley is nestled between the Gardens of Stone and Wollemi National Parks, over fifty kilometres north of Katoomba and the Three Sisters. There are very few roads leading into Wolgan Valley… in fact, there is only one road in and out of the valley. This isolation only adds to the untouched picturesque beauty and its wonderful serenity. The resort itself only takes up only one percent of the total 7,000-acre conservancy located in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Wolgan Valley is surrounded by steep sandstone cliffs, carved long ago by the Wolgan River which runs through the centre of the Valley. With over one hundred different species of eucalyptus trees, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and birdlife, it is quite simply, a luxury paradise in the Australian bush.
Sydney to Wolgan Valley
Getting to and from the resort via helicopter is truly an amazing experience all in itself. The scenic helicopter flight to or from the Resort is approximately 40 minutes and will go via the famous Sydney Harbour, where you will see the Sydney Opera House and fly over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Most of the terrain over the Blue Mountains is seldom explored due to the rugged terrain. The mountains are scattered with unending eucalyptus forests, a green carpet for as far as they eye can see. Deep gorges cut into the ancient sandstone plateaus creating a labyrinth of valleys and water courses when seen from above. One gets an understanding as to why the Blue Mountains were such a mystery to early settlers for so many years and why so many attempts to pass over the Blue Mountains ended in failure. The blue haze of the valleys offset with the golden sandstone cliffs makes the Blue Mountains a photographers dream, especially in winter when fog sits in the valleys making the Blue Mountains appear like they are on the edge of the earth. As you come into the helipad, your pilot will drop beneath the Wolgan Valley escarpment so you are eye to eye with the ancient rugged sandstone cliffs before finishing in a gentle landing at the helipad. The friendly Wolgan Valley team will meet you at the helipad on arrival and drive you off to experience what Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley Resort is all about.

A Little Bit About the Resort
The resort is built on an old property once visited by Charles Darwin, the famous English naturalist. The original homestead, built in 1832, is still standing and has been restored to its former glory. The 1832 Heritage Homestead is iconic and influences the rustic country appeal of this incredible resort. There are 40 private free-standing homestead style villas at the resort built from local sandstone and timber. The 36 Heritage Villas offer a separate lounge and bedroom, a double-sided fireplace, private pool and expansive veranda. There are an additional three larger Wollemi Villas which are ideal for a family retreat or honeymoon hideaway. Each has two lavish bedrooms, a large living room and separate lounge and dining areas. The three-bedroom Wolgan Villa completes the villas with breathtaking luxury and expansive space. This villa serves as a completely self-contained lodge with gardens and terraces. Whatever your needs or desires, Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley have the haven for you.
The resort gives you plenty of options to unwind from the city madness. You can sit back and relax in the lounge of your elegant homestead style villa; explore the surrounding bush by foot, mountain bike or on horseback; stargaze and get close to nature; enjoy the award winning dining; or slow everything down in the luxurious One&Only Spa.
Resort and Spa
The One&Only Spa’s philosophy is based upon holistic therapies which utilise Australian organic products from their acclaimed Sodashi skin care line. It offers a variety of treatments with a very detailed and diverse brochure. Singles, couples, maternity, vitality, whole body, face, feet, salon… the options are endless. Imagine what you would like to be doing now. Perhaps a “sacred stones massage” to ease and calm the body? Or lay back and feel your body covered in warm soothing oils and Himalayan salt as your body is rejuvenated with a “body balance salt glow”? Or maybe a 90 minute “thermal infusing facial” to give yourself a natural face lift after the long nights working back late in the office? All in your exceptionally private double treatment room with a Japanese-style soak tub over overlooking the valley!
If you are looking for an adventurous way to escape the city, then why not explore the incredible canyons and cliffs of the Blue Mountains. Glow worm caves, fern filled gullies, Donkey Mountain hikes… there are endless nature walks around the resort. And, if you would like to explore a little further than your legs will carry you, explore the bush on horseback like the old Blue Mountains stockmen. If you’ve never ridden a horse, don’t worry. The team have you covered with their basic riding skills course in the arena. Tours through the stables to meet the beautiful horses of Wolgan Valley are also an option if you want to take things step by step. Otherwise, leap in and take to the back country for the day.
Fine Dining
Whether relaxing in the spa or exploring the bush, eventually your tastebuds will be crying out. The gourmet food from both the country kitchen and dining room will surely satisfy with epicurean delights that should not to be missed. The chefs use the very best seasonal, regional and, where possible, organic produce from local Blue Mountains boutique farms, private growers and vintners. You can experience fine dining in the Wolgan Dining room or have a lighter more casual lunch in the provedore-style Country Kitchen.
